CONSOLIDATION OF THE CARRASSUT BRIDGE IN LLÍVIA
The Llívia Museum, in the Cerdanya region, proposed to us the project for the consolidation of a small element of traditional Cerdan heritage: the Carrassut Bridge, which had historically served as part of the area's traditional irrigation infrastructure.

At our practice, we never lose our passion for working on elements of traditional architecture, and the Carrassut Bridge, in the Cerdanya region, is one of them. It is a small aqueduct that once served to irrigate farmland, built in a time when tourism was still a distant concept.
The Llívia Museum, concerned about the deterioration and loss of value of this structure, commissioned us to carry out a consolidation project for both the bridge and its surroundings. We needed to understand the context of this feature within the landscape and consider how to intervene today using traditional techniques.
The goal is to restore this ensemble tied to vernacular architecture, born in a time when agriculture and livestock farming were the only sources of wealth and subsistence in Cerdanya.
