MULTIPURPOSE SPACE PROJECT IN THE CHAPEL OF SANTA LLÚCIA IN GIRONA
On February 28, the basic and executive project for the adaptation of the Capilla de Santa Lucía as a multipurpose laboratory space for artists was delivered to the Girona City Council.

A wooden module is proposed inside the chapel that solves the entire functional program, as well as a technical pavement that regulates the pavement and allows the passage of facilities. This wooden module is located transversely in the space between the existing columns and the change of level, acting as a server space for the two resulting spaces in the nave at different levels. With this division, three spaces are differentiated, a reception and office space, that of the module itself, and the multipurpose room.
The reception and office space located at the entrance to the chapel is in relation to the central module, which has storage spaces and appliances to provide it with activity. From this, you can access the lower level where the multipurpose room is located or the upper level of the module, by the ramp or staircase located at the ends.
The wooden module is the central part of the project, it serves the other spaces, serves as a structure for a new loft space and houses work and storage spaces. Structurally, it is composed of a structure of wooden slats lined with OSB panels.
It has two closed work spaces, designed for more sustainable punctual air conditioning of the space. They are equipped with several power and network sockets, a work desk, which takes advantage of the unevenness of the chapel and covers the pre-existing stairs, as well as with glass enclosures to give greater transparency to the module and luminosity.
The multipurpose room is a diaphanous space to give flexibility of use to the project. It is equipped with a technical floor that levels the pavement and allows the passage of installations, with several power and network sockets both around the perimeter and in four connection mats distributed throughout the room. The use of this room is related to the central wooden module and especially to the mobile furniture fitted into it, since each of these is a functional mobile office unit.
For the information of the administration, a draft of the distribution proposal and estimated budget for the construction of an adapted bathroom outside the temple is made, although it is not part of the present project.
