The old Yacht Club building, constructed in the late 1960s, is currently underutilized, with only a few ground-floor spaces open to the public. The Yacht Club's activities are carried out in the new building, constructed four years ago in the port's breakwater area. The building is structurally sound, but work is needed to bring it up to accessibility standards, modernize the facilities, and construct new restrooms.
This area of the port is used year-round for nautical and recreational purposes, although the peak season is obviously summer. There are various other uses, though these are sporadic, such as those by the Lobos de Mar association, the Red Cross, diving companies, and the owners of the different moorings. The Port Authority of the Generalitat is preparing the amendment to the Port's Special Plan, which will definitively regulate the entire area.
There is also an intention, promoted by the Sant Feliu City Council, to enhance the entire Fortim area and its accessibility, which is also linked to the area of the former Yacht Club.
In terms of exterior spaces, minimal paving work is needed, along with the construction of a new access walkway to the mooring area behind the Fortim, which is slated for restoration. Work is also planned on the breakwater of the current gas station. Two different options are being considered: maintaining the existing gas station structure and repairing the underwater foundations, or demolishing it to create open space for new moorings.
