RENOVATION OF THE CAL NOLLA FACADES IN COLLBATÓ

A project involving a historic building—Cal Nolla in Collbató—a house of distinguished character with a beautiful façade, and one of the few remaining examples of the old summer homes in the Baix Llobregat area.

Can Nolla has had a long and eventful history: built in the late 19th century, it was later acquired by the Nolla-Alcobé family-lawyers and politicians who had made their fortunes in the Americans (indians) and held properties in Cuba.

In 1975, the house and its gardens became public property, and the main building was converted into the Town Hall; the municipality has now comissioned us to restore its facades, aiming to recover their traditional finishes and character. 

We are currently conducting a detailed analysis of the building and have worked on documenting the historic elevations using photogrammetry, in collaboration with architect and photographer Xavi Juanola.

We remaind comitted to historic architecture and its most authentic values-in this instance, within the Baix Llobregat region and the surroundings of Montserrat, a major cultural hub in 20th century Catalonia and essential part of the country's soul.
