We have completed the project for a small piece of traditional 19th-century architecture. It is the Caseta de la Guardessa, located along the railway line from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to Girona, in the municipality of Llagostera.
We proposed an intervention aimed at restoring this traditional architecture, including ceramic edging over a lime mortar background. The original old blue color has been reinstated, and new elements for the roof and openings are introduced with a minimalist approach, such as metal trusses and grilles for doors and windows.
The building was in poor condition, overgrown with vegetation and missing its roof. Our proposal is to recover it as an information and interpretation point, as well as a shelter for users of the Greenway from Girona to Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
We are excited about this intervention, which restores the historical memory of a time when trains and the people who worked on them were the driving force behind communication and the region’s growth.
