STATEMENT OF THE BCIN-MONTBLANC HISTORIC COMPLEX

The Department of Culture of the Generalitat awarded us the drafting of the technical file for the Declaration of the Historic Site of Montblanc, in Conca de Barberà. The document highlights the buildings, public spaces and other elements that make up the historical value of this traditional town.

The firm proposed, in order to innovate in this work on architectural heritage, the incorporation of new representation technologies in the Declaration of this town. We worked with the technique of flights with a Drone in order to create an advanced cartographic base in digital format. With this tool we obtained a point cloud that has allowed us to systematize all the information and generate global images in three dimensions that give a very clear and convincing idea of ​​the elements and volumes of the Historic Site.

Throughout the work we wanted to highlight the special interest of the buildings of the historical plot such as: the church of Sant Miquel from the 13th century, the church of Santa Maria la Major from the 14th century. XIV that presides over the profile of the nucleus, the Palau Alenyà, from the 14th century or the old hospital of Santa Magdalena, located in a suburb from the 16th century. Another outstanding element that we wanted to highlight in our study is the walled enclosure, one of the most important in Catalonia and the network of public spaces that characterize the entire nucleus, such as the Plaça Major, the Carrer dels Jueus, the Carrer Major or the Plaça de Sant Marçal.
