RIERA GINKOLERS DE ROSES COMPETITION

The building of the Roses's Brotherly Union Company , in his origin about 1942, was rightly implanted next to the Ginjolers strem when this one wasn't still canalized.

Taking advantage on this urban reappearance in the scene of the Ginjolers stream, we try to give a new impulse and to make reborn the building of the SUF. For it we propose to support the front, as an element that becomes a part of the historical and visual memory of the people and to construct the rest of the building.

His main face, in  Ginjolers stream, is organized in two parts in order to recognize the previous existence of the building of the SUF and to adapt to the small scale that, since we said before, characterizes the urban structure.

On the other hand, the front to the Trinitat street shows a variable height which from the three plants, in continuity with the general profile of the street, it raises in the meeting with the Ginjolers stream like a visual milestone in this urban axis.

This modification of the height accentuates the transition between a typical street of an historical center, characterized by the narrow width in relation with the buildings height , and a walk.

We propose a front based on a double-skin. The interior face will be formed by a curtain wall, with double chamber and aluminium carpentry adapted to prevent heat transfer through heat bridges, which allows us the maximum natural lighting, and across the windows jambs, it's provided a simple cleanliness of it. We can also mention the facility of recycling of both materials and his reutilization possibilities .

For the roof we propose the utilization of a green roof system in two versions.
