The Roses Town Council commissioned us to rehabilitate and restore the dry stone heritage and bunkers at the Trinity Castle (Castell de la Trinitat) in Roses.

  • Budget:
    • 250.000

The rehabilitation project for the surroundings of the Trinity Castle (Castell de la Trinitat) has been delivered to the Roses Town Council. The project proposes the recovery of dry stone walls, the agricultural and landscape restoration of vineyards and olive groves, and the musealisation of Civil War bunkers.

The proposal was divided into four main components: dry stone architecture, agricultural regeneration, the pine grove or landscape area, and the bunkers.

As for the dry stone interventions, walls were restored along with several damaged or interrupted sections. Pathways were unified, and a clearly recognizable route was created by placing a small line of stones at the lower edge.

Regarding agricultural regeneration, an extensive plantation was planned, combining olive trees and vines with other fruit trees and small shrubs. The result was an attractive area that blends naturally with the landscape's morphology, offering easy access and creating a coherent route.

For the pine grove or landscape area, a more controlled and family-friendly space was proposed, where the terraces formed by the dry stone walls create quiet zones with excellent sea views.

The bunkers, previously underused, were equipped with new lighting and connected to the park’s main route to give them a renewed function. Finally, the intervention was complemented by prominent signage to provide informational and orientation points within the bunkers.
