URBAN PLANNING PROGRESS IN THE GARRIGUES ALTES
Last Wednesday, January 31, the urban planning document drawn up by Fortià Arquitectes on behalf of the Department of Territory of the Generalitat was presented in La Granadella to the mayors of the 8 municipalities of Les Garrigues Altes.
The Draft Plan document has been developed over nearly a year of work and has considered various aspects of the territory: growth of settlements and urban land, open spaces and territory, infrastructure and mobility, and catalogs of rural farmhouses (masos).
At the presentation session, participants included architects from the Department of Territory of the Generalitat, Josep Armengol and Isabel Boluda, municipal technicians, local stakeholders, and, from the drafting team, architects Xavier Busquets and Pep Fortià. Growth strategies for each of the eight settlements were discussed and defined, taking into account the characteristics of traditional architecture, the constraints of urban fabrics, and the agricultural vocation of the olive-growing landscapes in the region.
For the graphic representation of this planning, large-format cartography at a 1:25000 scale was used to visualize the entire territory. From there, the focus shifted to different municipalities through four presentations at a 1:12500 scale, each covering two municipalities: El Cogul/Granyena de les Garrigues, El Soleràs/Els Torms, Juncosa/Bellaguarda, and Granadella/Bovera.
In this session, the document was finalized, and the various urban planning documents were delivered: the Draft Planning Document, the Environmental Study, the Catalog of Masos and rural houses, and the final conclusions of the Public Participation Process.
