The proposal for the section E of the port in Sant Feliu de Guíxols is related to a general strategy of renovation and promotion of the harbour. The present usage and activity of the harbour is inadequate to meet the demands of a viable XXI Century port. The general proposal aims to modernise the uses and facilities of the harbour with a new planning to combine commercial, productive and leisure activities.

This new context proposes extending the present Passeig dels Guíxols promenade -which is an important urban element of the XIX Century- so as to connect with the harbour. In this aspect, the intention is to unify the town with the harbour by means of attention attracting features and road linking elements.

The Special Plan presents the creation of a new urban centre dedicated to services that would dynamise the area and promote local economy at the same time. One part of the proposal is to revitalize the touristic and urban landscape of the area. Furthermore, it is proposed to create a new centre for business and services that could include shopping centres and cultural or leisure facilities for various community activities.
