Within the framework of urban planning, a Special Urban Plan for the Protection and Catalog of Historical, Architectural and Environmental Heritage is a normative document that allows town councils to protect the most significant heritage of the municipality.
Through individualized files, it identifies the sets and the relevant heritage assets (architectural, archaeological, paleontological, sociocultural, ethnological, natural and environmental or landscape) and establishes the level of protection to which they are subject, determining the type of interventions or possible actions of in accordance with the normative content of the Plan, in order to guarantee the preservation of values and traditional forms of human occupation of the land.
