INTERVENTION PROJECT IN THE HISTORICAL BUILDING OF MAS VILANERA IN L'ESCALA
The City Council of L'Escala entrusts us with the executive project for the partial restoration and consolidation of this historic farmhouse.
Mas Vilanera is declared a Cultural Property of Local Interest (BCIL) and is owned by L'Escala City Council. It was built in the 16th century and is a building with a complex structure that has grown organically over time. In its surroundings there are remains of a Monastery and a Church dating from the 13th century, apart from other structures and necropolises from the 5th and 6th centuries (a.C.).
The proposal contemplates the restoration and consolidation of the auxiliary bodies located in the northeast area of the complex. The editorial team is made up of: Josep Maria Fortià, Xavier Busquets and Raimon Bustos, architects and Dolors Codina, archaeologist.
It is expected that in the future the Mas will become a space for interpreting the natural and socio-economic environment as part of the candidacy as a reserve of the Biosphere of the Costa Brava led by the Girona County Council.
The Department of Culture of the Generalitat has awarded a subsidy for the intervention in this monumental building and from here on from Fortià Arquitectes we will draw up the executive project of the intervention.
