INTERVENTION PROJECT IN THE NORTH WALL OF SANT MARTÍ D'EMPÚRIES
We are working with L'Escala City Council on a proposal for the Monument Plan of the Girona Provincial Council.
The wall of the fortified enclosure of Empuries, is a construction developed over different centuries. There are a variety of constructive situations, incidents and pathologies in the different parts of this historical element. The City Council has proposed to Fortià Arquitectes a specific proposal in the North Wall in order to make a first intervention in the fortified enclosure. The action, which is proposed as a first phase of a more global process, will focus on the repair of pathologies of biotic presence, decohesion of the facings and consolidation of the crowns as well as a part of archaeological documentary research.
The drafting team has already carried out some inspection visits and previous work on coves in order to determine the character and composition of the historic mortars and stones present in this facing.
