JOSEP MARIA FORTIÀ AS AN ASSESSOR OF ICOMOS ESPAÑA DRAWS A HERITAGE REPORT ON THE INTERVENTION IN THE CHURCH OF SANT VICENÇ DE TOSSA DE MAR
Tossa de Mar City Council asked the organization of experts in Historical Monuments ICOMOS for an in-depth opinion on the recent intervention in the exterior walls of the building.
The intervention carried out in the church of Sant Vicenç has been designed and directed by the team of the architect Itziar González and the restaurateur Javier Chinchilla. The actions involved the construction of a burial ground on the temple floor covering the archaeological remains and the Galilee as well as the consolidation and treatment of the exterior facings of the seafront, badly deteriorated due to the bad weather and storms along the coast.
Based on a series of complaints and opinions expressed on different social networks, some groups have questioned the appropriateness and historical rigor of this action and it is from here that the council has contacted different expert organizations such as AADIPA, GRETA or ICOMOS in order to collect accurate technical reports on the aforementioned intervention.
