PRESENTATION OF THE CATALOG OF ARCHITECTURAL, HISTORICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROPERTIES OF BARBERÀ DEL VALLÈS.
Last December 21, we presented to Barberà del Vallès City Council the list of Assets to be protected in the future Special Plan and Catalog of the municipality. On behalf of the City Council there was the mayor Xavier Garcés, the councilor Mònica Sempere.
The purpose of this document prior to the Special Plan is the protection, conservation, research, dissemination and promotion of the cultural heritage of Barberà del Vallès, of all those assets that deserve special protection and defense, so that they can be enjoyed by their inhabitants and we can pass them on in the best conditions to future generations.
In the framework of urban planning, a Special Plan for the Protection and Catalog of Historical, Architectural and Environmental Heritage is a normative document that allows municipalities to protect the most significant heritage of the municipality.
Through individualized files, it identifies the sets and relevant heritage assets (architectural, archaeological, palaeontological, sociocultural, ethnological, natural and environmental or landscape) and establishes the level of protection to which they are subject, determining the type of possible interventions or actions in accordance with the regulatory content of the Plan, in order to guarantee the preservation of values and traditional forms of human occupation of the land.
The editorial team led by Pep Fortià, architect, is also made up of Rosa Maria Gil, historian; Xavier Busquets, architect; Pere Ylla, lawyer; Joan Solà, geologist; and Carme Calafat, environmentalist.
