THE INTERVENTION ON THE TOWER OF THE HOURS OF CERVIÀ DE TER IS ADVANCING
The interior space is characterized by the transparency and lightness of the metal elements.
The action proposes access to the Tower as a vantage point over the Historical Complex and the recovery of the clock machinery linked to the monument.
The Torre de les Hores de Cervià de Ter is part of the historic grounds of the Castle that dominates the Ancient Core. It is therefore an element linked to the wall that the Cervià de Ter Council has proposed to recover as a unique piece in the traditional landscape of the complex.
It is a monument that dates from the 11th century as a tribute tower linked to the castle, but with important modifications from the s. XIV and XV, in the centuries of greatest splendor of the historical fabric of Cervià. Later in the 20th century it is crowned with a hemispherical dome and becomes a clock tower.
The proposed intervention envisages the construction of a helical profile staircase inside the tower that gives access to the forging of the upper part in order to be able to see the clock machinery and enjoy good views of the historic center through the oculus of the dome that tops the tower.
Due to the small dimensions of the tower, it was necessary to design a staircase of metal steps with a light structure that hangs from the different offsets that the tower presents.
