JOSEP MARIA FORTIÀ, TEACHER IN THE MASTER'S COURSE IN TRADITIONAL CONSTRUCTION AND BIOCONSTRUCTION IN CENTRAL CATALONIA
Throughout this year 2024, the Master's Course in Traditional Construction and Bioconstruction organized by the Bioconstruction Guild of Catalonia will take place in Berga. This course follows the guidelines and the collaboration of GRETA, from Girona.
In the months of January and February, the Stone module is being done and later it will be followed with the lime and plaster modules, ceramics and brickwork and finally, the wood module.
The general objective of the course is to preserve the trades and transmit the values inherent in traditional construction techniques, to recover knowledge and provide the necessary tools so that the companies dedicated to restoration and rehabilitation are a benchmark for quality
The course takes place in Berga in the morning and afternoon every Saturday and there are itinerant site visits in the Berguedà region.
The architect Josep Maria Fortià gave the sessions on architecture, emphasizing history, architectural analysis, types of constructions, materials,... There was also a reflection on the concept of architectural heritage from of a tour through the main urban spaces and historic buildings of the city of Berga.
In the different sessions that have been scheduled, other professionals linked to the field of restoration and intervention in heritage will also take part, such as: Judith Vinyes, geologist, Roger Solé, marger, Eduard Prada, technical architect, Cristina Thió, restorer and Ariadna Asturias , construction company
